Intervertebral disc

In the context of accident and injury, a disc refers to an intervertebral disc, which is a cushion-like structure located between the vertebrae of the spine. These discs consist of a tough outer layer (annulus fibrosus) and a gel-like inner core (nucleus pulposus). They serve as shock absorbers and provide flexibility and support to the spine.
